From precision fermentation to plant cell cultivation, a brave new world of emerging techniques offers the potential for more efficient processes and novel solutions to old problems.

But can innovative technologies and sustainability always walk hand-in-hand? The upcoming Vitafoods Insights webinar, on 29 August, holds the answer.

Investments in sustainability initiatives among nutraceutical brands and stakeholders are on the rise, whether in relation to the sustainable sourcing of ingredients, green credentials on production processes, or eco-friendly packaging.

Meanwhile, consumers are actively seeking out sustainable products, with increased demand allowing industry players to dream up technological advancements that hold the potential to transform the sector.

Held on 29 August, the free-to-attend “Innovative technologies and sustainability” webinar is brought to you by the content team, with the support of our sponsors Pharmako and Tecnosoftgel, as part of the Vitafoods Insights Webinar Series on Market Innovations.

It will explore market trends, consumer insights, and emerging technologies that are allowing brands to embrace and embed sustainability practices within their businesses, and will consider how to formulate sustainable products that meet consumer expectations.

There will be two expert presentations, the first from Aarthi Janakiraman, research director at TechVision and Frost & Sullivan, who will talk about “Emerging technologies as a key enabler for sustainable product development”. She will discuss how the increasing focus on sustainability and circularity has opened up new avenues for companies to develop and adopt emerging processes that reduce energy consumption and raw material use, as well as recycle or upcycle by-products and end-of-life products for R&D and product development.

Dr Débora Campos, founder and CEO of AgroGrIN Tech, will then deliver a presentation entitled “Market innovations: Innovative technologies and sustainability”. She will compare the time to market, profit, difficulties, favourable outcomes, and growth expectance of innovative technologies versus sustainable technologies, as well as looking at how different business models can support the introduction of sustainable technologies into supply chains.

A live panel discussion with both speakers will follow, where our audience can look forward to valuable insights regarding market drivers, consumer trends, and more.
