Ingredient innovation to tackle obesity and overweight [Video interview]

A French startup focused on finding solutions to obesity and overweight has been recognised for creating a modified linoleic acid that acts as a human fat taste receptor’s agonist.

EktaH won the prize for Most Innovative Finished Nutraceutical Ingredient at the inaugural Vitafoods Europe Startup Innovation Challenge. Its winning ingredient can naturally induce anorectic peptides, resulting in early satiety and weight loss.

We caught up with CEO Xavier Boidevezi after he accepted the award at a ceremony hosted live at the event in Geneva last month.

Xavier Boidevezi graduated from a business school (ESSCA) in 1998, before acquiring solid marketing and commercial experience in France and abroad (Germany, Saudi Arabia, and Vietnam) during more than 25 years within the DANONE and SEB group. Alongside his professional occupations, Boidevezi has built up a very important network during his five years as the head of the FoodTech thematic network (2016-21) within the framework of French Tech, but also as Foreign Trade Adviser of France (CCEF), where he is chairman of the Bourgogne Franche Comté committee.
