Mental wellbeing, active nutrition, and beauty from within were among the trends observed at Vitafoods Europe 2022, a smart event with digital and in-person connections and content.

Vitafoods Europe wrapped up a successful two-week event, held both online from 2-13 May and in-person at Palexpo, Geneva, from 10-12 May. Nearly 700 companies exhibited at the event, with overall attendance representing 126 countries. The event aimed to inspire nutraceuticals professionals from around the world with the latest industry and scientific knowledge, as well as via event zones on ingredients, finished products, services and equipment.
More than 90 hours of content was presented via the online platform at the in-person event. During the first online week, sessions covered topics including blockchain in the nutraceutical space, mental wellbeing and happiness, and sustainability trends, including market trend data from Natural Marketing Institute. Three digital Innovation Tours also provided attendees the opportunity to get a ‘sneak peek’ at top new releases, while the online meeting platform facilitated connections and networking.
In-person, there were four separate theatres with extensive programming. On the Main Stage, focus topic areas included mental wellbeing, active nutrition, personalised nutrition, regulatory companies, and sustainability. The Life Stages Theatre highlighted topics including women’s health, healthy ageing, and children’s health. In the Probiotics Resource Centre, developed with the International Probiotics Association (IPA), sessions focused on probiotics and the global market opportunity, including synbiotics, postbiotics, and research innovation. Finally, the New Ingredients Theatre highlighted new launches from exhibitors around the world.
