Extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO), known worldwide for its beneficial properties and one of the leading ingredients of the Mediterranean diet, is distinguished from other oils for being a food with interesting functionalities to improve human health.

EVOO, used in a wide range of products from food to cosmetics, stands out for its composition in functional actives with the ability to deliver the benefits of the Mediterranean diet. These properties are supported by numerous scientific studies; one of note is the Predimed study, which included more than 7,000 participants and recognizes the benefits of the Mediterranean diet and especially EVOO.

In the unsaponifiable part of EVOO is where the aforementioned actives are found, particularly hydroxytyrosol, oleuropein, maslinic acid and oleanlic acid, which provide important health effects.

“Through normal consumption of EVOO, it is very difficult to get the right intake of these functional compounds, contained in extra-virgin olive oil in a much diluted form.”

Hydroxytyrosol: Polyphenol of the olive leaf and fruit
Studies reviewed by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) support the antioxidant nature of hydroxytyrosol. It has been shown to be one of the principal and most important antioxidants found in nature.  It is a beneficial cardiovascular protector of natural origin, helping to lower cholesterol in humans.

Oleuropein: Compound from olive leaf
The same claim is attributed to oleuropein, the main polyphenol found in EVOO. It gives EVOO its bitter taste. The molecular structure of oleuropein also includes the hydroxytyrosol molecule, thus providing the same beneficial antioxidant effect for the treatment or prevention of cardiovascular issues.

Maslinical acid: Ingredient of the olive fruit
Maslinic acid is the third of these important actives of natural origin. It is one of the main pentacyclic triterpenes of olive oil with a great anti-inflammatory capacity, especially indicated to support joint function, target conditions related to inflammatory processes, and positively impact other issues such as metabolic syndrome.

Oleanolic acid: Active from the olive leaf
Another important triterpene of EVOO is oleanlic Acid, a significant active with functionalities of note related to blood sugar support and prostate health.

NATUROLIVE COMPLEX
Taking this into account, it is apparent that EVOO has beneficial functionalities thanks to its rich composition.

However,  it is very difficult to achieve an adequate intake of these compounds through normal consumption of EVOO since they are contained in a much diluted form in EVOO.

Instead, Deretil Nature has designed an ingredient that comprises all these advantages in a single capsule.

NaturOlive Complex is a 100 % Spanish ingredient and is made up of maslinic acid, oleanlic acid, hydroxytyrosol and oleuropein.

A single capsule of NaturOlive Complex contains the same healthy nutrients as a liter of EVOO, without the need to consume any type of fat, avoiding the consumption of additional calories to obtain the benefits in an easy and fast way.

The composition of this ingredient allows Deretil Nature to bring together in a single product the whole potential found in EVOO, becoming one of the most innovative raw materials available in the market of functional and healthy ingredients.

NaturOlive Complex is available in powder grade, slightly brown coloured as bulk supply and through a network of distributors.
